Building on London skyline
15 Answers
There is a tall torpedo shaped black and silver building that seems to appear on every programme that has a view of the London skyline, looks like it is near St Pauls, or maybe thats just because they scan across the skyline. Anyone know what it is, I keep seeing it in so many different programmes. It has sort of spiral black bands going round it.

Thanks for that, it was bugging me that it kept appearing and I thought I ought to know what it was.

St Mary Axe is its 'proper' name, but most people know it as the gherkin.
I have a client based there and been up it a few times. It is quite impressive.

Wouldn't get me up there for a million squid!
I once went up the Post Office Tower and nearly passed out, and the Eiffel Tower had me quaking and holding on to one of the metal supports. Worst one though was Dungeness Lighthouse - got up and was scared to come back down! I prefer terra firma - the more firma the less terra.
