I had a vespa scooter in the 60s and considered myself to bea Mod with the cropped jeans, fishermans t shirt and crombie, at 15 my hair was very long well past my waist( I had one then, lmao) I went out one Saturday morning with my friends and decided there and then to have it cut to a inch all over, I bought myself the obligitory polo slide in pink and that was me....a Mod, when I got home I thought my Mother was gona have seizure!!!! I loved the Kinks but then I also was madly in love with Paul Mc Cartney, we camped outside of Newcastle City Hall to get tickets for the Beatles, that was awesome, the police were great, bringing us teas/coffees from a van, we got our tickets and were lucky enough to look back now and say I saw the Beatles....live.
I love the music of the 80's - early jazz funk and soul from that time - Cameo, Alexander O'Neal, shalamar etc, and as well as Spandau, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Level 42, Heaven 17, pet shops etc - as a dj my fave track from this decade is i Found Lovin' by the Fatback Band as it always cheered me up - AND if the dance floor was pretty empty, filled it 20 seconds in to the intro!!! Great buzz! Great Decade too ( 70's close second )
