It is Friday once again and as you see, the Shrubbery is under new management for the month of March. As Rabbie once said "The best-laid plans o' mice an' men. Gang aft a-gley".
Firstly, crofter is off for a spell in the sun to recharge his batteries (solar of course) and so he has passed his abacus and control over to myself for March. Next, a big spanner in the works - Bridgenut had to decline the setting because he also has to be away. But I know how disappointed you'd all be if the game didn't happen for a month - and so . . .
. . . the links for for March will therefore be set by a Mystery Guest who is under strict instructions to keep well clear of the shrubbery so there will be no opportunities for nobbling anyone.
My apologies for opening the Shrubbery gates a little early tonight but I am going out to my Art Club's annual Committee Dinner. Please make sure you keep the place tidy (I'll be checking back later this evening) and I don't want to return to complaints from the neighbours about noisy music - remember, some of these modern youths don't appreciate our real music.
It is a new month so the scores are reset to zero for both the KM and MM games. Both are launched in 'Quizzes & Puzzles' on Saturday morning.
The MM game is introduced at 8:45 am and the action starts at 9:00am. (Did I say 'action'? - well, more like the opening of a January sale!) Look out for the sister game KM Links (based on the Daily Telegraph GK Crossword) which can start at a very early hour and is managed by seekeerz from down under.
The rest of this thread is now thrown open to the Shrubbery Crowd and guests. Enjoy yourselves. gen2
So we have a mystery link setter tomorrow. I think it is crofter as someone suggested.
Or perhaps it's that man in Kays rafters !
Well gen2 said he/she would not be appearing in the shrubbery.....so who else hasn't shown up yet ?
Maybe sarumite
Well, I'm afraid I'm going to miss out on the mushrooms. Give the lad my regards when he shows up with his lacies over his pants. I guess if you eat enough mushrooms this is one of the results - dress confusion.
Good evening to all as it's just twenty to five in these here parts.
See you in the morning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZWCNeHbHGU
It's gone quiet in here!....Are you all setting tomorrow's links?
I wonder if Crofter has got the Ed to set them? We could then get him/her suspended for posting too many times!! :-))
It could be dusty again. Whoever it turns out to be, I surely must do better than I have fared lately. Only one point again last month. I seem to do better on the KM competition.
Pauline - Liked your suggestion of the Editor and for him to get suspended
Sorry had a phone call and am doing some sewing ready for tomorrow. Am going for a meal (Geoff's old school reunion) they invite me as I used to go with geoff in last couple of years. It's a posh do and they do me my own Gluten free menu (own gravy and Eton Mess for my pudd!!!!)
Re man in rafters......There are spotlights in all upstairs rooms (here when we moved in) and last week 2 rooms lights went off for no reason. man in roof was trying to find out why. Bill for that....Electric and gas bill this week and they were ENORMOUS!!!!!!! Hair-do tomorrow......I am destitute!!!!!!
Good evening all.....well this proves that the mystery setter isn't me!!
It seems to have gone a bit quiet in the shrubbery tonight, but this may liven it up...and raise a laugh
Hi gang, I've managed to arrive at last ... but sorry no mushrooms for you yet, extra heating's needed in the greenhouse to bring them up to par!! Magic!!!??
Reason I'm so late, is 'cos the link words had to be sorted in time for the morning, so if you laydeeees are extra attentive tonight, hints might possibly be dropped!! Or am I just telling porkies???? ;O)
Pauline, I am the height of posh!!!!! LOL
Hello S, haven't spoken to you much just lately, hope you are ok.
Hopefully this time next week I will be in Brixham with my daughter and lovely grandsons. my son in law is in France fitting out a boat he has sold so am going to keep her company
miss meg...Ont-ice is an 'old regular'...but she can't always make the shrubbery due to time difference. She is in Ontario...and her hubby needs feeding while we are all on here! She is a good pal!
so it's not miss meg tomorrow then either!!
I thought of gen2 Sarumite...but I didn't think even Crofter would make us try and work gen2 out again!!!
