Rainbow Quiz

i'm with DaiFawkes and Questionmaster. Why don't all the pusillanimous early questioners simply send a donation to the charity and just forget the quiz. They're clearly not going to derive much satisfaction from copying others' answers.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.goofy and tazmac25,i agree with you, some of us are not that gifted to be able to answer all the questions(unlike the poster of this thread)some of us have to learn, surely the main thing is to raise money for the charity, not to worry who wins,or how they get their answers, sorry if i have offended anyone, that was not what this post was about!

I have to agree with Coppins Crew, DaiFawkes and Questionmaster. There are too many quizzes being ruined with almost all the answers given away on here and other Q&A sites. What is the point? It just turns the quiz into a lottery - and I can buy a ticket for that whenever I like!
I like to do the quizzes for two reasons, first and foremost to support the charity and also for the chance to give the "grey matter" a good workout. Yes, I use google, but I'm entering search criteria and looking for information that leads me to the answer (hopefully). What I am not doing is entering the question(s) on here and waiting with my feet up for someone else to do the hard work for me.
wallacia - how is it learning if someone else tells you the answer? Work it out for yourself, have a guess or leave a blank space (there's a novelty). Whatever, you will have already bought the quiz, so the charity has benefitted - why do you need to use other people's answers - the prizes are not life-changing are they? Learn by seeing the answers/results of the quiz and being better prepared next time. It's not about being gifted, it's about applying yourself and doing the hard work yourself.

I have been trying to get through to all the "early posters" that I am sure answers will be freely available nearer the closing date but am constantly "shot down" by the smart alecs who claim it is a question and answer site after all.
It is actually a "QUIZZES & PUZZLES" site wihich suggests
the questions actually come from .. er .. Quizzes and Puzzles meaning someone has put n a lot of time, effort and a great deal of thought to produce what is hopefully an enjoyable and challenging (or otherwise) quiz.
This means it is not an "Endow me with thy knowledge o great and wise one" site.
The only posters who do so early are TAKING ADVANTAGE of you by harvesting answers with no effort whatsoever only you are all so keen to impart your knowledge to others you cannot see it.
And you have the nerve to call other people stupid !?

Well, you do that by sending them the entry fee, so whether or not answers are given here does not affect that.
"and also for the chance to give the "grey matter" a good workout. "
If you don't look at any answers given here then you don't have a problem in that regard either.

You all seem sure people are learning things from postings on yhis site.
I am sure they would learn more by actually looking for the answers themselves.
Anyone who thinks for a second that any answer will stick in someones head in the time it takes to write something in a blank space on an answer sheet is being incredibly naive.
It is a case of "got that one - next!"

I think people are losing some of the point
Most of us just want you to wait till nearer the closing date as you must realise that once one is asked the flood gates open
Yes I know we dont need to look but if its one youre stuck on I for one find it hard to resist and yet I might have got there in the end on my own

Whether you look at this site or not is immaterial.
The answers are still given which reduces a quiz to a rafle in effect.
If you aren't prepared to do a quiz, why send for it ? (you could always send a simple donation)
If you can't do the quiz when you receive it, why not just bin it instead of wasting your time and effort scrounging answers from others - well meaning or otherwise!

It is caring people trying to prevent good quizsetters from stopping their good work because they are fed up with lazy answerers destroying their hard work in seconds - aided and abetted by smart alecs who never do the quizzes but are happy to help the idle ones.
We are actually asking something - show some consideration for others by not asking questions too soon.

Well, I'm fed up with the same old crowd arguing about this every other day.
I personally am more than happy to help anyone where I can and if I see people saying, "ooh, you shouldn't ask that here", that only makes me more determined to find the answer.
If I was making a charity quiz, I would be happy to get all the entry fees and wouldn't care what people did after that.
Life's too short. Let's change the record.
Anyway, I'm now going to join the William Hill website to complain to everybody there that they shouldn't be gambling :-)

If proof were needed of the truth of QuizmasterG's post at 12.12 today it is the death of another quiz as mentioned here:
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Quizzes-and-Puz zles/Question722629.html
Another good quiz dies - do hope that this gets some people thinking about the too easy taking of answers on this site.
