looking for name of song popular in 1965 ..played a lot on popular boston radio stations..lyrics described various womens hair color..ie.   red haired women.....gimme some.. the refrain "gimme some" ended all the things the singer liked  ..voice  and style like tex ritter ....can't come up with the name of the song or artist

If its the same one i am thinking off, it was by an artist called,BRENDON and is the first track on the northern soul cd, north of watford volume 1.

Brendon's song (Gimme Some) was out in 1977. 

 

I may be way off beam here, but for some reason I think the song you're  talking about could be "Life is a rock (but the radio rolled me)" which was out in '74 by Reunion
