Skitts - you probably haven't read the thread from "oddboddy", but for information, he is giving up setting quizzes after this one - simply because his quizzes (and many others) are constantly being ruined by people asking for answers on here and other sites. So congratulations.
These questions can be answered reasonably easily - after all, you have more than one way to tackle this - looking for the father, the mother and the children in separate searches and then finding the connection.
It is a charity quiz, so why is there a need to use other people's answers, apart from sheer laziness? Where is the satisfaction in using someone else's answer? If you can't find an answer, have a guess or leave a blank space (there's a novelty), but please, please don't spoil it for others and for the quizsetter. Why is there a need to feel you have to get all the answers by whatever means? Whatever happened to pride in doing something yourself?
This is an immensely satisfying quiz when you finish it - more so if you've done it yourself!

i simply asked for help that is all, if people want to reply that is up to them, have you seen any answers on my feed NO just a website of which i am very grateful because that way i can find the rest myself, not being very computer literate it is helpful when others give useful sites to help.
as for you quoting it is a charity quiz ...people set them for making money for the charity why should it matter where the answers come from surely it is about selling copies isnt it or have i got that wrong aswell!!!!!
i have supported oddbods by buying a few of their quizzes in the past, of which i would again if they do anymore but if they are not then its the charity that misses out not everybody elses fault.

Skitts - you've hit the nail on the head. It is a charity quiz, so you've already helped the charity by buying the quiz - so there is simply no need to get someone else to answer a question for you - that doesn't give the charity any more money does it???
There is no shame in sending in an entry with some blanks on it.
squarebear - not again - as I keep telling you, I am not the police nor have I ever professed to be. I am entitled to my opinion, just as you are. One of the many differences between us is that I do not ruin quizzes by giving answers away on here. Have you read the "thread" from "oddboddy"?

squarebear it is attitudes like yours that will kill off charity quizzes. boysinblue is correct. If you give answers to anyone irrespective of the numbers of questions they ask, whether they ever answer any questions on AB etc etc then the eventual consequences will be as follows.
(a) Quiz setters will stop setting quizzes (just like oddboddy and others before). If a quiz setter requests that questions are not asked on the internet but nevertheless they still are then why do you think that is acceptable and more importantly why do you think it is OK to then answer them?
(b) People will stop doing the quizzes because they become, in effect, a lottery. If dozens of people simply get the answers here then there will be dozens of all correct answers which means that the prize winners have to be drawn out of a (very large) hat. I entered a quiz earlier this year, answered all the questions correctly but so did over half the people entering! Hence there were scores of all-correct entries and the winners had to be drawn out of a hat. So people will stop entering because the chances of winning are too low.
(c) People will never learn. Why on earth do people answer easy general knowledge questions rather than say, in effect, dont be lazy, use Google to find the answer? If a poster can ask questions like when was the public smoking ban introduced (which was asked on here earlier today) and have it answered (which you did) rather than being told to use Google to look it up themselves then how will they ever learn? Spoon-feeding them is not the answer. sarumite had the right idea in the first answer in this thread.

pulse876 - many thanks for the support. You didn't really expect squarebear to provide a sensible answer did you?
squarebear - another predictable reply, but can I just point out that this is "Quizzes and Puzzles", not Q&A. The site doesn't need banning, it needs the people who use it to act responsibly and think about what they are doing - no doubt that will presumably exclude you?
Skitts - I only visit this site because when I do the work myself on the internet, so many hits link to this site, I just get curious to see how many quizzes are being ruined. I don't ask for, nor use, answers provided by someone else - I can see no enjoyment in that. If I can't answer it myself, I'll happily leave a blank space.
Your logic about oddbods charity is flawed. Everyone who has asked a question on here for "oddboddy's" quizzes should take some responsibility for their actions - it is these people who are responsible for the fact that there will be no more quizzes from that particular source - and no one else's.
Now will you answer my questions please?

Skitts will you please answer the question boysinblue68 and I posed. Your original post asks questions from oddboddys quiz. The quiz setter has requested that the questions are not asked on the internet yet you get stuck and do exactly what you were asked not to do. Why do you think it is reasonable to ignore oddboddy's request and post your questions? Especially given that the result of your actions (and those of other similar people) is that oddboddy has now given up?
Oh get over yourselves, it's a shame you havent got anything better to do than bully people, i like many others on here enjoy all the quizzes & if we can help one another what does it matter.....as for Oddboddy's claim i have not seen it, it does not state on the front cover of the quiz do not ask questions it simply says "do not ask too many questions too soon all i have simply done as i have said is ask for help & Sarumite gave me a website to try now where is the harm in that.......
The front page of this site says:
"Ask questions, get answers. No matter how outrageous or practical your question may be, you will get answers from real people...."
a) As long as the charity gets its 1 I don't care. They might ask for answers not to be posted but you know as well as I do, that if it isn't done here, it will be done on Yahoo answers or many other sites.
b) I realise we are in a "credit cruch" but if anyone is that desperate to win 10 or a bottle of wine then times are harder than I realised. Surely people play these quizzes to donate to charity rather than taking something away from it?
c) We don't say, "Don't be lazy use google" otherwise it kind of makes the site pointless. It's a questions and answer site. The word Answerbank gives it away.
If everyone were to reply "use google" to every question then no-one would come here.

Skitts - Bullying seems to be the usual cry of anyone on here who comes in for a spot of criticism. As Jim from the Royle Family would say bullying my a**e. And there was nothing in the wording of your original post to suggest a request for clues or hints rather than outright answers.
Squarebear You might not care but obviously some quiz setters do, the result being less quizzes. And so will the charities when people stop doing the quizzes because they are being turned into lotteries.
Some of us do the quizzes to both donate to charity and win them. Nothing wrong with that.
As usual your answer about Google misses the point. Who was suggesting answering all questions go and Google it? But people who come on here asking general knowledge questions that could be more easily and quickly answered by Googling are simply being lazy. Why spoonfeed them? If they can manage to discover and use AB then they can do likewise with Google.

You suggested it yourself in this very thread- "Why on earth do people answer easy general knowledge questions rather than say, in effect, dont be lazy, use Google to find the answer?"
What is easy for some people may not be for others. Someone was asking in the films section about an actress in a film and I knew it was Cameron Diaz. This was very easy and straightforward for me but I wouldn't have dreamt of saying "use google", otherwise what's the point of the site.
The only questions I don't answer are those that are obviously homework questions, as it doesn't help the student. But a school education and a quiz are two separate matters.
And I'm sure we can have a whip round for you if you really need the 10 prize.
