Yes, I thought this was a relation of the spaghetti tree, but Chambers says that the sweet marshmallow is made from marshmallow root. grannie39, please enlighten us.

I think you mean a tree mallow (lavatera). You can keep it in a pot but it will need to be a big one as they grow quite fast and it will need a lot of water to keep it looking good.
