(all the answers are flowers and I haven,t been able to come up with a sensible answer.)

22. I have put Butchers broom.

smouse: like you I think it may include brie and I have aubretia but that doesn't fit in with the plural. I seem to have spent hours with the Royal Horticultural Plant guide both scientific and common names and also an amazing list of French cheeses. Pity there is no guidance with letters.
Thanks for that I have been trying to make some sort of anagram with mince but that makes perfect sense

also had aubretia and tried very hard to make the remaining letters into a cheese

Have subscribed to the thread in case I become inspired in which case I'll come back and tell you

Now the last thing I want to do is start a furore but I'm sure you'll all think of the answers in the next FIVE weeks.
After two days of pondering over this, I think I might have it.
What about Ribes (flowering currant) - an anagram of Bries.

Many thanks ...have been trying to get 2 cheeses mixed up but much prefer your solutions. I can now post this one off and start attacking the rainbow quiz!
