compass bearings
6 Answers
I am trying to do a route card for an expedition and on the route card it asks for a compass bearing but I have no idea how they work. I did some research on the internet but to no avail.
I am not really that sure whether a compass bearing is given for a certain location or a certain route or how exactly they should be positioned.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks :)

A "compass bearing" is simply a direction of travel where 0 degrees is North, 90 degrees is East, 180 degrees is South, 270 degrees is West as explained by Aquagility. To get from point A to point B you travel in a direction ( a bearing) for a certain distance. Might be worth you getting some training befoe you go on your expedition - compass bearings and map work are absolute basics. Don't rely on a GPS - you need some understanding of what you're doing first...
