download real player

I'm trying to download Real Player from Real.com, but keep getting told by AVG Resident Shield Alert that there is a multiple threat detection, and that the infection is 'Trojan horse Downloader.Agent2.APF.dropper (both infections seem to have the same name). It says the file name is a 'temporary internet file\low\content.IE5\G59BGN9I\RealPlayer11GOLD[1].exe'. Now I am not at all technical when it comes to this sort of thing - have I got a virus that AVG did not find, what do I do about it and how do I get Real Player on my laptop please? HELP!!

Maybe you are on a "dodgy" real player site (a lot of people are now setting up "look alike" sites that make you THINK you are downloading from the genuine site but are not.

For example if you search on "free Avast" the top hit in Google is avast.s0ftware-ukk.com (I have deliberately slightly misspelt the site name so nobody goes to it).

You may THINK this is the avast site but it is not, Going to it brings up a virus warning (from avast funnyily enough).
