Skirting boards/corners
2 Answers
I need to replace some skirtings which have been removed. They are about 7 inches in height. How can I make 45 degree inside and outside corner joints? I cannot find a mitre saw or block which are tall enough to use with these skirting boards.

Mark out your 45 degree angles on the top edge and use a set get the vertical cut lines at 90 degrees to the top edge. Cut down each line carefully, clean up / widen the cut with some sandpaper. You've made yourself a big mitre block that'll be good enough.
