shakespeare/ jacobean monologues

Hi!
I'm auditioning for post-grad courses at drama school, and am having a problem with the Shakespeare/ Jacobean speech. I'm just over 30 but look around mid to late 20s, and am female :-) Of course so many speeches have been done before and also I'm not sure if I fall between the 'young girl' and 'mother with a grown up son' categories. Do anybody have advice regarding the ages for characters such as Imogen, Lady Anne, Queen Margaret in Henry VI ii and iii, and others? Thanks

Does it have to be an age/gender appropriate speech? Surely the measure of your potential is how well you can adapt to any role?
