Oh - and sorry - echidnas lay eggs as well, yes. They share the same amazing feauture of being able to feel their young in the same way that platypuses do. Their milk oozes from a mammary gland under the skin, and neither animal has teats!

Odd isn't it mamya - some reports say that armadillos don't lay eggs. I know the armadillo lizard doesn't, but then I found this, and other stuff.....
Armadillos cannot be mistaken for any other animal in appearance. ... Females do anyway, to lay their eggs during late spring or early summer. ...
