KM Links Game - April week 4

Good morning everyone - I'll have to be on the brief side with this or I'll miss the 7.00am slot.
For your consideration, the clues were posted a while back and now for the words
WASP
HAPPY
CLAY
LEAF
What might Kate have matched these four with ?? well put in an entry and see how you go.
The contest ends Sunday night and I'll do the scoring as soon as I can - amazingly early this month, I might add,
Good Luck, one and all, and now for the lift off........S

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Steff ~ can you come to my aid please? I don't really understand anything Telegraph apparently. The clues last week would appear to have produced the words which turned out to be in fact the answer to the links, so did Kate actually print what should have been her choice instead of the other way round? or am I missing something? (apart from a brain!) I am just not going to be able to sleep tonight!!!!

Dear wabbit I hope you're not still waiting up for me and that by now you're tucked up in bed dreaming of lettuce leaves and carrot tops !!
I hope after Monday all will become clear - if the carrier pigeon is on time, I'll post the questions from Herculis around 2.00am and then later when I post the scores I'll post the answers to those questions and then match them with Saturday's links to make the final result.
I know in theory it sounds very muddled but when you see it in the flesh, so to speak, it does make some sort of sense. Sleep well S xx

Dear Steff ~ you are so patient with me but I still can't understand. There were 4 clues last week. One about lifting vehicle - JACK. One about Hobbits - SHIRE. One about complex organisation - BRANCH. One about a flying insect - MOTH. But these were the words given as Kate's choices i.e. the answers. So where did the words OLIVE, YORK, EMPEROR and UNION come from? Did they have clues? This poor little brain of mine is missing something
and I am now looking for a short pier to take a long walk off of of!!

Dear wabbit I do hope you didn't just keep going when you got to the end of the pier - don't just go hopping off anywhere !!
ok, I have continued here hoping that you will be the only one to bother to come back to read it because there are one or two people who tend to get their knickers in a knot very quickly over anything perceived as a slight or criticism or whatever.
Last weeks posting of the Herculis clues and links was a complete horlicks, so that's why I posted the Herculis questions before the results thread went in this week.
If you look at the Saturday words [from this week] and then the answers to the Herculis questions, you'll see that they make up the matches that were posted in that later thread.
Forget last weekend, it would have confused a mastermind, but if you can get the idea from this weekend, then just pop a line here and I'll find it - good luck and it's a pleasure - Steff xx
