Last few, help please. 1. What common food takes its name from an Anglo-Saxon word meaning "mouldy".

The Anglo saxon words for mould appear to be FYNIG or MOLS...neither of which sound remotely like cheese.
Somebody has suggested Dorset Blue Vinney, another kind of cheese, which *might* possibly be an answer. See:

Wouldn't have thought that Dorset Blue Vinney qualifies as a 'common food'. though, unless you live in Dorset.
