Welcome to this first week in a rather unique situation when the remarkable seekeerz (aka Steff) will take over the world, in that she will be the major player in both hemispheres ~ that is, in both MM and KM Link Games. In spite of the distance in time and space between the UK and Oz, she has maintained the KM scoring for over two years and has done a fabulous job.
At this point in time, I usually construct a suitable title for the incoming champion to mark his/her regal status. I considered Sultana Steff, but that sounds too fruity! I think I'll settle for Her Serene Highness Stephanie of the Southern Climes or something similar. I'll have to exercise a little caution or I may end up in the Tower!
All the text is ready for tomorrows launch of MM Links and I am looking forward to an exhilarating month of challenges from her. Dont forget that this will be a five-week month, so youll all have plenty of opportunity to test the mettle of our new champion. Our resources have never been so severely stretched, but the posting should open at 8.45am and the four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember, remember ~ that early hits gain bonus points!
Of course, Her Serene Highness will also represent the international version of this same game which is called KM Links in the form of her alter egoseekeerz which is more flexible in terms of starting time and in which early hits DO NOT qualify for bonus points. As I always say ~ Why not chance your arm at both Link Games? They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards.
As usual, tonight is Quiz Night at the Cricket Club and on Sunday I plan to visit Preston for a Birthday Lunch for Mrs Crofters cousin. Just in case we dont return in time to publish results, the ever trustworthy gen2 has agreed to standby to cover for me.
With fingers crossed and hoping for friendly breeze, the good ship HMS Linker will launch safely and return to harbour unscathed.
Ah, so it is to be that Sultry Sultana of the Southern Climes, Her Serene Highness Stephanie, is it? I wonder if the last time she was called by her full Christian name was either when she was being ticked off by her ma or when getting married!
Mark you, seekeerz does, at the moment, sound like something we are all supposed to be doing into our tissues and handkerchiefs!!
Wallacia, you are most welcome to join in,
look out for the headline KM links early tomorrow and try to guess what the link words will be to the 4 given from the telegraph crossie, then at 8.45 steff will give us 4 more words in the MM link game and try to guess the 4 words that she has put with them.
do stick around tonight for the fun amd music in the "shrubbery" while we wait.
good luck
jan
Hi Wallacia, welcome aboard. We just chat on here on Friday evenings (for some reason it's called the Shrubbery) We are a friendly bunch and have just met by talking on here. We do get a bit silly too!!!
Jan has explained about the word links tomorrow, which are just a bit of fun too, so feel free to join in if and when you want.
They're a great bunch, Wallacia; I joined in the MM links version last week for the first time and was made very welcome. I've promised to be on my best behaviour this week.......
For those of you in the Shrubbery tonight, membership cards not required (just a good sense of humour and a healthy liver) the drink that Jan is referencing is, and I quote from elsewhere, "2 fairtrade bananas, ice and baileys in a smoothie maker"
Probably delicious, but sounds like sick and possibly looks like it too!!
