Hi again from the Antipodes
I'm stuck on bottom left corner of Speccie 1913.

32 DOWN Found on Mayflower's bows - or boughs, say?
_ _ W _ E (5) Could this be HAWSE?

35 ACROSS Time for spending the summer outside
_ E _ N (4) Could this be AEON, but if so, what's the wordplay?

Any help appreciated.
I think it is hawse. aeon : maybe anagram of season without the two s's?
Chambers says:-
AEstivatiON = spending the summer
Thanks folks. I'll run with those.
