Maine ****, and Norwegian Forest cats, have a healthy weight of between 11lb and 15lb. I have a tomcat weighing 14lb, the vet agrees that he is perfectly healthy, and is just a very large cat. He also has tufts of fur in between the pads of his feet, in the same way that Norwegian Forest cats do, this is to enable them to walk comfortably on snow. If your cat's body is firm, with no loose fat, then it is quite likely that somewhere in his ancestry there was one of the above mentioned breeds which have in recent years become popular in the UK. If you are in any doubt as to whether your cats weight is correct for his bone structure, then it would be advisable to check with your vet. Otherwise just enjoy him. Best wishes. Schutz.
The largest Domesticated Cat that I know of is the Maine **** which I believe originated in the USA. Fully grown Males can weigh well over a Stone. They are beautiful Cats.
I doubt if your cat is part Wildcat even though they evolved from Wild Cats originally. What breed is your cat ?
If he is fit and healthy, then he probably is just a big lad anyway and more than likely a big softie.
Had a Cat as a Pet most of my life but living in a Flat now would not be Practical as far as Pets are concerned.
