A saying, name, book or film title to reveal a bird (I'm stumped by the last few): R????? R??? (Robert Rook?). T?? F?? A??. S??? V???? M??????. E???? E??? (eagle eyed?)/ C?????????? W???? (Christopher Wren? - but too many letters in second part). Any help would be much apreciated.
Many thanks for your replies, especially 'swan vesta matches', Vegasmad. Unfortunately, it is a quiz and not a crossword, so the letters are as they are given on the sheet. "Tit for tat' (T?? F?? T??) is one of the other clues, so I am at a loss for T?? F?? A??. Unless the setter has made a mistake, C?????????? W???? can't be either wren or robin... Any ideas for R????? R??? other than Robert Rook (I can only think of rail, fuff and roller...)...
