When I was a student in Edinburgh in the 60s we sometimes used to buy the first edition of the Scotsman from the Head Office - usually at some God-forsaken hour of the morning after a late bridge session. We would then work out all the answers to the cryptic crossword and snatch a few hours sleep.
The following morning we would "scunner" our unsuspecting friends as we pretended to find the crossword ridiculously easy by providing all the answers to their copy. So I'm just reliving old bad habits really.
