a call to all those bright sparks out there (mine has turned to mush as i am trying to write an essay and drink cold, cold beer at the same time). i have been running one of those oscillating pedestal fans through the hot weather and am wondering how much it will cost me in electricity to do so. any suggestions as to pence per hour would be just groovy. ultimately, i guess i am just being nosy, cause i don't care how much it costs because i will use it anyway! mtia for any spare brain power out there. i hope you are all cool, calm and collected and doing stuff that is far more interesting than i...x

It would depend on the setting you are running it on and how much 'per unit' the electricity is from your supplier.

i know, i know. thought someone would point that out. afterburner and 'normal primary units' at 23.92p and 'secondary units' at 10.19p each. whatever that means..........x

oh and leggy...50 watts apparently. again - whatever that means (i am a girl!) x
i was stuck on the brains required part.

but about 7amps would sort it.
assume 12.00 pence per kwh, 8 hours a day...

50W * 8hrs = 400 Wh = 0.4 kWh
0.4*12.00 = 4.8p a day
4.8*30/100 = 1.44 per month

some charges can be up to 20.00 pence per kwh, which would be 8.00pence a day/ 2.40 a month.
