Lupins and Peach Trees
3 Answers
Any advice on the aftercare of lupins, when turned to pods would be appreciated. Also, I have a peach tree which suffered from peach curl last year. I removed all the leaves again and again and yet this year, although there are healthy leaves, every now and again I see a leaf with signs of it. I remove them immediately but was wondering if it was worth perservering or just removing the tree as I have another one further away which is fine? I did use general bug sprays and have asked advice but no-one seems able to tell me anything suitable to use. Any help would be great, thanks.

When my lupins have finished their first flowering, I chop them down to about a hands height from the ground. My second lot of new growth is now coming up and some even have new flower buds on them. I do this every year and it always seems to work. Some people just cut off the flower spikes once they have gone to seed, but cutting the whole lot down seems to work for me.
I've had Peach tree leaf curl this year and just whipped off the dodgey leaves the tree is fine now and I have peaches growing - I have bought some Bordeaux Mixture to spray them with next spring which says on the side of the bottle treats amongst other things Peach Tree Leaf Curl... so heres hoping....
