salad cream
7 Answers
i love salad cream for a lot more things than salad. Why do you think it is that when you go out for a meal, or even to a sandwich shop you can get mayo, red and brown sauce, seafood sauce, mint sauce, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, mustard (2 types) tartare sauce etc etc but NEVER salad cream? Even in places that do salads!

last sunday morning, on that programme on bbc2, something for the week-end, the liverpool chef made salad cream from scratch. would have loved to have tried it and see how it compared to heinz.
my husband's addicted to the stuff, has it on most sandwiches, and a blob of it on the side of his plate too. i always add a squirt to home-made coleslaw to make it a bit tastier than just with mayo, and use it instead of mayo in egg mayo sandwich filling. had some myself at lunchtime on a cheese and tomato sandwich.

When I drove through Germany I bought various rolls etc from fuel stations and they don't put the sauce in. You get a ham roll for instance with a sachet of mustard, a small plastic knife and a paper napkin all for about the same price as over here in the UK. Germany might be the place for you Whitebear.
