Having read the debate of 39 answers earlier in the evening, I can only say what I have used answerbank for. I am a fairly recent joinee. I ask because I only do one really hard crossword (FT) and if I ask, it is because I have struggled and just don't see where the answer is coming from. Therefore, the more erudite, the more practised, the more skillful can lead me in the right direction,and the pleasure of edifcation is great! I think, yeah, see where it is coming from. Maybe it will teach me to stand a clue on it's head, or whatever.

Sorry - I love words. I am a very keen scrabble plalyer. I just like to know how one reaches an answer. It has nothing to do with deadlines, prizes,etc. Therefore people like lion-in-king, rollo etc. are all just great at understanding words, crosswords, etc.

I agree with your comments NW3Nutter I would struggle with the crosswords you do, so would only answer if UI was sure and able to explain.

I love quizzes and try to hrlp but if I know there are weeks to go or conversely do not know the quiz will give a helpful clue.

I agree Lie in King , rollo and many more make me marvel at the complexity of some cryptic clues, with practise we may all get there.

I read through that thread in total amazement. Don't we all do puzzles, quizzes, crosswords, for enjoyment. Some of those people take it way too seriously!
