I read a humorous book in the 1980's whose theme was that the author had declared his house and land to be an independent state and the book was a series of actual letters and replies that he had sent to various authorities in connection with this. The letter/reply format was very similar to The Henry Root Letters, which I own and is not the book I'm thinking of. Any ideas?
