Are all veins that show up and are raised slightly, varicose veins?
14 Answers
I had bad veins in my twenties which were very bulbous ans my legs ached. I had the op and have had no probs since. However now in my fifties the veins at the front of my legs show up so much and some are slightly raised, not as much as the ones on back of my hands!!
They don''t ache but a a bit unsightly. Are they varicosed ?

Your first question....."are all veins that show up and are raised slightly varicose veins"...answer ...NO
Next..you have had previous leg surgery and now the veins in your leg show up and some are slightly raised, are they varicosed veins.....almost certainly YES.
Do varicose veins need surgery....not necessarily.
Have I missed anything out?

Yes,
Just because I had surgery over 20years ago doesn't mean I have the same now,and ,as I pointed out in my post, they are not the same at all, they are only very slightly raised, look completely different to my previous ones, and do not ache at all where my previous ones did!
Obviously I am geneticallly inclined to them returning but I dont see why you have to take that condescending tone with me.It was just a question!
