It's to do with cards. In bridge, a ten is known as an honour card. A bit obscure, but I think the clue came from Saturday's Times Jumbo, so just about par for the course.

Cheers, the Times Crossword Jumbo crossword explains everything, although I thought only Jacks to Aces were 'honour' cards in Bridge.

Apparently, honour cards are all court cards and the ten of trumps.
