Have recently started to try to get things on our local site and am advised that the administrator has to approve same every time. This is very frustrating as some people seem to be able to post at any time. The real trouble is that the time taken by the administrator to put items on is at least 3-4 days which is frustrating. How can I post items straight away. Any advice would be appreciated.

Don't know if your local freecycle has a similar format to mine, but in the title you usually put something like - Offer-insert item-location, don't be too specific about the location, just an area of you town will do. Also the administrator on mine will remove your phone number if you include it.
Sorry if these are details you already knew, can't think why your posts take so long, ours usually appear within hours, if not minutes. Maybe you could use a posting to get a message to the admin explaining the difficulties you are having?

The problem is that most forums get hundreds of spam updates a day, so they need to filter them out.

If a new person is posting they dont know if they are a spammer or not so need to check their entries.

Often, after you have posted 2 or 3 times, they then let your entries through unchecked.

Mind you, 3 or 4 days does sound excessive to check your update, I would normally expect a few hours.
