Hi Frank - it's me again. I have been doing a bit of sleuthing during lunch, with the aid of my Halliwells. So far, I find that Mitzi Gaynor was in Mario Lanza's final film (made the year he died) "For The First Time" (1959). So that ties in with the info you have provided but I never remember hearing of them as an 'item'. Anyway, good for the if they did have a 'scandalous affair'.! Where did you see the question?

I'd say it;s Spenser Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. They had an affair, starred in last film (Guess who's coming to dinner ) together. Haven't found the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical yet.

Hi, it's Jean Genie again. I have been reading through al the answers you have received. Come on, when did any of them play a nurse in a Rodgers & Hammerstein musical??? I can't imegine what Mitzi would see in a short fat Mario, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and she probably thought he was tall and slim! She could always close her eyes and listen to him singing!!! Anyway, I always dread when my husband gets new specs and sees me as I am now - 'For the First time' (title of the aforesaid film).

Swannbaker. This is for you. Your answer sounds more plausible than mine -I did not know about the 1958 show or Beverley Aadland. Did she appear in the last film Errol made? I just could not imagine Mitzie and Mario, really, though she did appear in his last film. So I herewith concede defeat and retire from the competition! To bad we all have to wait until the end of November!!! Sorry, Frank. But you really got us all going, didn't you?

Hi Guys. I hang my head in complete shame - I just found out that the film made by Mitzi Gaynor was in 1969, not 1959 - the year of Mari's last' film. A completely different film. Have researched Beverly Aadland and found that she ws only 15 when she began her affair with Errol Flynn. hence the 'scandalous affair'.. Apologies all around to everyone. I should have known Mitzi was too nice to have an affair!

Hi Frank. Have found that EF's last film was "Cuban Rebel Girls" (1959) and Bev A. starred in that with him. I guess it must have been pretty bad as Halliwells don't even give a description of it in their Film Guide. So that seems to solve your problem. By the way, what is Q50. referred to by swannbaker?

more trivia from my head --- M/s Aadland was a mere 17 yrs old but her ambitious mama went to live with them, thus parental consent and no prosecution.
