Thanks everyone - yes the smart viewer is useful and allows you to select and enlarge the puzzle before printing. I agree that there is a mistake in 26 down K, it should presumably read 'Golden State'.
Thank you for your links to the Spectator puzzles. Having started off on the Enigma Variations I have been following your discussion over recent months and been emboldened to try other crosswords. I have also been enjoying the chat of your cabal and not felt too lonely in the dunces corner whilst waiting for that pdm! I thought I would post a short note to mention that if you bookmark the Speccie link it will automatically update each week. I know this isn't going to help those who need the pdf version, but it may well be handy for the rest.
Thanks Cruciverbali, Yellow11, if you can navigate to the right page, which is near the end, then just press print and it will give an option to print custom area and a neat little page will show on your screen. Start to draw round the crossword and it more or less does it itself. Hope this helps
Hi all! I'm still about and doing the Speccie - just a hiatus in posting an early link with the change in accessibility. Christiana's advice is sound and the way I now print my version off. Presumably this doesn't work for those who ask for a pdf?
Thanks Christiana, followed your instructions and succeeded to master the smart edition print off. Also thanks to people who have made the puzzles available on this site, £3.20 would be an expensive entry fee!
It's also a proper noun that properly has seven letters, not six (though references can be found to a six-letter version, with y or j as the penultimate letter). It would be interesting to know what source Dumpynose used here.
15a is also unsatisfactory, I think. The solution is an interjection, not a noun, and therefore has no plural form (and indeed none is given in Chambers).
