MM and KM Links November 2009 [Week 1]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!
You may not remember, but it’s a year to the day since “Tricksy Strix-y” took to the throne of Linkland and teased you all for the entire month! This time, it should be “King James” of JimJools fame to succeed (sounds like what do budgies do? SUCK SEED) the ever-popular “Queen Christiana”. Unfortunately, previous family commitments make this impossible ~ so I need a Plan B! I have been off-line for a couple of days, so the only one I can call on at short notice is “King Krophta the Quizzical”!
Last weekend, the baby-sitting of 9-month-old “Prince Harry” went so smoothly, I couldn’t believe it! After his parents left at 6.00pm, we all played on the floor for two hours. A word of advice: Grandfathers should not get down on the floor to play with a grandchild, unless they can guarantee being able to get up again. After supper, he went down at 9.00pm and slept though until 6.10am and chatted to himself until about 7.00am before wanting to bounce about on granddad’s bed! He ignored his parents when (at 08.30am) they came to collect him (all clean, changed and fed: ready for playing again)! I call that a success! ~ Until I learned that his nappy had been put on back to front!!

My text is not quite ready for tomorrow’s launch of MM Links (a euphemism for “I haven’t started yet”) and I hope to bring an exhilarating month of challenges for you. So gird up your loins, stiffen the sinews and prepare for bloody battle. The posting should open at 8.45am and the four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember ~ early hits gain bonus points!
Of course, it is also a brand new start for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz and goes by the name of “seekeerz”. We are most fortunate to have such a “bonzer sheila” to help out we pommies (so-called from faces as red as pomegranates after being initially exposed to the strong Australian sun). As I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards.
Until I see you tomorrow ~ “Happy Linking”!

Cheers, Crofter, you've given an enough ammo there to the harpies of the Shurbbery to have me riddled with bullets, skewered and stewed in one of their cauldrons.
I wait with natural dread what Rosa et al have in store for me tonight.
