Hi everyone, does anyone know what the name of the book regarding Lewis Carroll and his courtship with his wife is called.  I believe it was also made into a film.  Many thanks if you can help.

erm i didnt think Lewis Carroll liked girls

Grown ones I mean -big girls.

For a long time he was a fellow of an oxford college and they werent allowed to marry (and stay fellows)......

I don't think you're talking about Lewis Caroll; I'm pretty sure you're talking about CS Lewis, another author and Oxford don, who married an American divorcee with two small sons, much against his own strict Anglican principles.  It was originally very much a marriage of convenience in name only to allow her to stay in this country, and then I believe he fell in love with her.  Won't ruin the ending if you don't know it, but have a box of tissues handy!  The film starred Joss Ackland and was very moving.  Both it and, I believe, the book, are called SHADOWLANDS.
"Shadowlands" was also (more famously) filmed with Anthony Hopkins as Lewis. I haven't seen the earlier BBC version since it first came out, but I remember being much more impressed by it than the hopkins version.

No, Lewis Carroll did like grown up girls, though he didn't marry.

About ten years ago there was a bit about Lewis Carroll and a  ( grown up ) girl called Ina. Possibly she was a member of the extended Liddell family.

I thought it was hyped up and a reflection with the 1990s obsession with s8x. I didnt think either Carroll or Ina were really putting their back into the relationship
