Well I could definitely be the cowardly lion !
Question Author
I like - who will wear the ruby slippers - mr v - I love his shows especially Joseph
Ah well peri,
Then here is a bit of a trivia question for you.
What was Lloyd Webber and Rices first musical together?
and when was it first given a public performance?
PS:~
As the main parts seem to be cast,I think I could play the Wizard,I have the necessary age and gravitas! LOL
Question Author
Was it Chess ? early 70s or am I totally out ?
Question Author
The only problem with the wizard mr veritas was that he was a fake - that doesnt go with your name - but he had a good heart at the back of it all -
Sorry peri,
but Chess isn't even Lloyd Webber and Rice! LOL
It was written by Benny and Bjorn from ABBA.
The correct answer is
"The Likes of Us" the story of Dr Barnado.
Which was written in 1965,but not considered good enough, and wasn't staged till 2005,at the Sydmonton Festival.
This a yearly musical festival in a converted church in the grounds of Andrew Lloyd Webber's house.
Question Author
Just shows you what I know lol - although I did not about Benny and Bjorns involvement I just thought Tim Rice was also involved. One way or another I will look forward to this program as I always enjoy him and the musical was a favourite of mine as a child and 'wicked' is a favourite of mine now.
Question Author
sorry - I meant - I did know
Sorry, yes Tim Rice wrote the lyrics of Chess.
I saw it in the West End when it was first on,it was nice, but not a patch on Andrews music.
I even like "The Woman in White" which is a very recent work, that was panned by the critics.
And now,as we are experiencing a very loud thunder and hailstorm, and as Elsie hates thunder,AND my llife won't be worth living if she gets scared,I shall bid you adieu.
So goodnight Ireland from noisy Sussex.
Question Author
Goodnight Mr V - talk to you again soon - all quiet over here
More cheap publicity for a Lloyd-Webber show paid for by us the licence payers.
I could not agree more Everhelpful - its cheap telly for a sat night - SALW is the last person that needs free publicity - with the possible exception of the owner of Everton FC. The BBC should not endorse it - but then i guess they will have a premium rate phone line to vote on - and then there will be the obligitory cd/dvd. All concerned should be throughly ashamened
good saturday night telly, give us the 'feel good factor' looking forward to it.
