For goodness sake Anglet (and alexanderd). I have just seen a post by someone else asking the same question.

This time though it makes full sense because the clue was NOT 'Golf tournament' as stated above.
The clue would in fact appear to have been "Qualify for final rounds of golf tournament".

It is so much easier for all concerned if, when asking for help, you quote the WHOLE clue along with the number of letters and any you have.
