2000s as opposed to 1900s - noughties and oughts?
1 Answers
So we're just about to wave farewell to the 'noughties' and I was having a discussion about this with a friend, who told me the 'noughties' have been here before - in the 1900s. But I thought that era was referred to as the 'oughts'. Or has it just been recategorised now? Very strange anway, as what the heck will we call the years from 2010 to 2012? From 2013 I guess they'll be the teenies (unless someone can advise otherwise of course!).
Would be very grateful to learn what the years 1900 to 1910 or 19012 were popularly referred to as though.
