My recently purchased notebook laptop has been infected with a malicious program called 'Security Tool', advising me that I have 49 virus infections in my machine, and inviting me to by a removal program for $49.
I have checked the system with Mc Afee and no virus is indicated.
This 'Security Tool' appears on my programes list, but not on the population list for thr removal of software,so I am unable to remove it. This malicious program also seems to over ride every action I make by throwing up several different dialogue boxes in a continual loop.
Does anyone have any experience of this malicious program or have any ideas on how I can remove it?
Ant suggestions would be most welcome.

i had this on my laptop tried the net then gave up , had to take it in for a clean , they take the hard drive out to remove the pesky thing.
...and when you've done that, download AVG free then A-Squared and run scans one after the other with those two. I found out that A-Squared finds things that AVG sometimes doesn't.
