yeah - i hate all the Mariah Carey histrionics... when she lays off them, I love the ballads in particular or the covers such as Run by Snow Patrol - and have you heard her version of Oasis' Stop Crying Your Heart Out? Great....

She absolutely ruined a beautiful Snow Patrol song with her wailing and I can never forgive her for that. I'm sure she's lovely in person but her voice gets on my Tapas, can't stand that style of 'music'. She can walk the plank along with Celine, Mariah, Whitney, Christina and anyone else of that ilk... Bloody awful.

Like you china, I don't like the likes of Christina, Whitney, and in particular Mariah - but I do think Leona is very good and so long as she avoids the wailing, do like to listen to her. I'm actually going to see her in June in concert - not my choice, it was a xmas present, but I still hope to enjoy it.

I'm sure she's a very likable person but I find her music insipid and her voice grating. That said, I'm clearly in a minority as she's always in the charts. I don't doubt her concert will be very enjoyable if you enjoy her singing.

Mmmm - we'll see. She wouldn't be my 1st or even 2nd choice of singer to go & see. Still, it's as part of a foursome (!) and we're making a day of it - shopping, meal etc, so chances are I'll probably fall asleep during it anyway coz of too much vino...
