How long can overlays be used on MAR (medication administration record) Charts?

I work with MAR charts as a community care worker and sometimes they run out. We've started using overlays to stick over the top but I was wondering, how long can you do this for?

I just wonder, as MAR charts can be used in court. If they are not properly filled out, then there can be implications.

what do u mean by overlays?? All the drugs should be listed clearly on the sheet incuding dosage, description, strength, form and also the number/marking on the drug and colour(s) of the drug for easier identification
