White

the house at the north pole so the bear is white have you got an answer for Q 19 please

Brian (or anyone else)

The answer you gave bears no resemblance to Sarah's question, obviously I'm not party to what's going on here.

Would you kindly enlighten my darkness please.

Bit of an old chestnut this one

"There is a house, shaped like a cube. All four walls face south. A bear is approaching. What colour is the bear?"

For all walls to face south you must be at the North Pole hence the bear is a Polar bear, which is white unless its been eating penguins, in which case its chocolate colourerd.

Thanks.  Also stumped on 19 - sorry.

I'm with kev on this one...how do you get white from the tiny clue given? There was no mention of bears, north pole or even colours? Are we both missing something? (Apart from the Sunday Times)

The first 3 all own (or part own) hotels. As for Gerald Ford, I can't find any reference to him owning a hotel, but it is the best I can come up with.

Now, perhaps you can shed some light on 26d......???

To kev and whoever - you need a Sunday Times to make any sense of this one.  Everyone else thanks.

come on folks - it's not difficult!!

If you live in a square house with all four walls facing south there is only one place on the planet you can be and that place only has one species of bear and that species is white - it's called lateral thinking and you don't even have to read the Times to pick that up.
