Earlier in the week for 3 nights running i woke up with a really bad pain in my right side,it was on the waist area going round into my back,i was walking the floor with it, but it did go away after taking painkillers.Although the pain has gone i still feel very sore in that area.I had to have a barium x-ray (19th Feb )could this be anything to do with it?Before the x-ray i had no pain or symptoms of anything out of the ordinary, and the x-ray was done as a precaution as i had had a little bleeding although the blood was fresh.I had a sigmondoscopy (is that the correct term)on 30th Dec ,on my small bowel which revealed nothing except a couple of polyps which were removed at the time. Thanks sqad

Polly, difficult to say with your limited description of the pain, but you have had your gastro -intestinal tract well examined so I think that we can rule that out.

Was the pain persistent or colicky (coming and going) and did you have at the same time any problems with passing water, blood in the urine?

I must say that depending upon further answers, it does sound rheumatic or muscular in origin.

Thanks sqad,i have been weeing alot during the night lately but no problems or blood. I had a virus a few weeks ago and do feel that i am a bit run down.I have been having really hot flushes which aren't like my menopausal ones, i go so hot very quickly and then really cold and feel quite nauseous.May be quite coincidental but the area of the soreness is itchy but theres no rash.I,m beginning to sound like a hypochondriac!I've always been so healthy, got to 50 and all down hill!
////,got to 50 and all down hill!////...................tell me about it LOL

It does sound fibromuscular, so just take pain killers as you have already done and monitor the situation.
Hmmm! Tell me about it... (not literally)
