Unusual Computer action help needed please

A message appears on my desktop from time to time saying
"Message from Webpage"
Warning your computer is vunerable to Malware attacks. Check your system

I have checked everything I know ,I have run the various virus checks .
Any ideas please.

In my expereince this is usually a scam trying to get you to download an antivirus or antispam package or run a so-called "test" which may be either expensive and ineffective or actually download a virus or trojan. So your checks are telling you the truth, they may be inactivated if you run whatever they are trying to get you to download!

I agree with Androcles, this "helpful" message is probably a scam and malware in iteself. DONT pay out for any software they say may fix your problems.

Download malwarebytes, install it, run an update to get the latest level of code, then RUN malwarebytes (quick scan AND deep scan).

btw a virus and malware are NOT the same thing.

Often a virus checker does NOT check for malware (some do) so running an anti virus program will NOT usually find malware.

Malwarebytes may well find it and fix it.
