The middle of the answer is an anagram of "I'd say",
Wayside garage?
Question Author
Thanks, Probably wayside, cannot get in case of "garage" bit.
Wayside: anag. of SWAY (rock) and IDE (say I'd); wayside garage not in middle of the road?
I, also like WAYSIDE for the answer, but I can't see the wordplay with garage. ANything to do with garage music? GAYSIDE fits the wordplay perfectly, but the word doesn't exist according to my Chambers. Googling it gives lots of homosexual sites. We need Kayakamina and Lie-in-king, I think.
6d is an equally sloppy clue.
