Seems like a very disappointing choice; does she know anything about films?

Claudia Winkleman is the most annoying "personality". Jonathan Ross was ok but Barry Norman was the best! I shall not be watching Ms Winkleman she reminds me too much of her chum Davina McCall - another irritating person.I agree with jackthehat, we are the licence payers and must insist on Mark Kermode presenting the show!!! (shame on you andy-hughes)

At least the decision should mean that Kermode and Mayo will continue on Radio 5, and that is probably the best film review show around anyway.

I know that Mark Kermode comes across as pompous but at least he knows what he's talking about, even if I don't always agree with him. Mark Kermode is the best person for the job.

Kermode used to be Film Critic on 'Talk Radio' many moons ago.
He reviewed a film and commented that whilst 'in the horror genre' it wasn't "hide behind your sofa, scary".

I took him at his word and hired it out............it was *horrible* and stayed with me for days afterwards.............:o(

At least on Film 2010 he'd have to accompany his critique with clips.........

Kermode who thinks The Exorcist was the greatest film ever made? Nah.

The exorcist is a very good film, especially compared to something like the insipid Shawshank Redemption that so many people seem to favour.

And I'm currently watching the last 20 minutes of Audition because I've forgotten what it's like...

After the first viewing I thought that I'd never want to watch it again, but the second time it didn't seen quite as disturbing.

I tend not to watch many films that have '.............disturbing' as some sort of recommendation !!

(I hope you realise that I have now been playing Audition back in my head...........?)

Even the phrase 'feeling physically sick' takes on an entirely new meaning when you've watched that film...............:o(
