Hi V8am, Nice to meet you.

You need to visit Gravatar.com and sign up with your AB email address (i.e the one you can see when you go to "my profile" and click through "edit user details") and choose an image.

under the "edit user details" page there is a tick box at the top of the page. If you want and Avatar, click it, and scroll down to the Submit button at the bottom of the form. Once submitted you should be able see you avatar on the main site next to your posts.

Ed... can you explain why so many of us are finding that when we try to put our AB user names in the Gravatar box, it says the names are already in use? I couldn't use boxtops and I know others are saying the same....

and dont worry about your user name on Gravatar.com . That doesnt matter, just put anything in. As long as your e-mail address is the same as the one you use here, that's all that matters. Gravatar is a safe site so dont worry about registering.

I assume because gravatar has a lot of users across facebook etc and Boxtops is already taken

Yes mazie - I did that in the end, but it's odd that so many of us wanted to keep the same and curiously found the names in use. Almost like AB names were already sitting there so we couldn't re-use them?

Gravatar is a totally separate site than this one, and has millions of users all other the world so there is a good chance that somebody has chosen your username on there before you.

(I got mine though LOL :-p)

It's the same with any site boxtops, if the name is in use you can't have it. Like e-bay, msn, loads of them. I have a book I keep for all such names and passwords! Pain in the whatsit as I like to use the same name wherever I go.

I used the anagram solver, put my real name in and it came up with a place in Australia...sorted

well I was lucky no one had my username, I too keep notes as some sites you need passwords with caps and numbers etc and some you don`t
