Competition win?
I have had an email from Funkyfogey telling me I
"have won a lifetime membership to Seasons Holidays Plc worth 2950, which entitles you and your family to one week's holiday for life"
I didn't realise I had entered a competition so: is this genuine? Neither web site gives me much in the way of clues. Appreciate anybody's help .... I don't like to be TOO sceptical cos 2 yrs ago, I did really win a rather nice car online!

If you did go for the offer you'd probably never get to have your week's holiday as the place you want to go to is fully booked or never available at the right time of year for you. Winning a car online is one thing, winning membership for a possible holiday is another thing entirely. And the only thing the membership entitles you to is to book the holiday with Seasons Holidays. You still have to pay for the acommodation, flights, food, car hire etc, etc, etc.
I won one of these about 3 years ago and was also sceptical. I spoke to them and they offered us a free 3 day break at one of the UK places (we went to Scotland near Ayr). All it cost was about 5 per night and we had a superb 3 bedroom house. We decided to take up the offer and went out to Portugal for a weeks holiday - luxury hotel. They got us the flights at a small discount, and the only other fee is the annual charge of around 250. The accomodation is then almost free (from memory I think there was a very very small amount to pay per night.) You would not normally get the same quality of accommodation at the price. We would have been happy to continue but I changed jobs and now have fixed holiday weeks, all between May and September. The week that you have won is off peak and in most places means you can only use it in Dec - Feb time, so we unfortunately had to relinquish our week as we weren't prepared to take a chance on not being able to fit in a week after we had paid our 250 maintenance charge. Obviously what they want is for you to upgrade to peak time, or buy another week, but overall it seemed fairly good if you can go off peak. Hope this helps.
