Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green; Defenders: Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock; Midfielders: Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips; Forwards: Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney
On June 1st he will whittle them down to final 23.
Has he made the right choice I wonder
If his key players stay injury free and play to the best of their ability they may make the semi's, not sure if they can get to the final as a lot depends on the other main contenders getting to the last eight i.e Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Italy, Germany etc.
I have just asked in the Sport section, how on earth does Emile Heskey still get picked for England when he can't get a full time place in the Villa team?
Assuming he will take all 3 goalkeepers and dump Bent from the forwards, that means I guess 4 defenders and 6 midfielders will drop out leaving us with 3 keepers, 8 defenders, 8 midfielders and 4 strikers
My predictions not to make the final 23 (assuming Barry is declared fit) are:
Upson
Warnock
Carrick
Huddlestone
Wright-Phillips
Cole
Bent
IMO Heskey is useless, Zamora or Agbonlahor should be chosen ahead of him, Heskey doesn't even play regularly for his club (a thing which Capello stipulates a player MUST do if he is to be selected)
I have a feeling Argentina or Ivory Coast are going to win it this time around
Most people will say Spain and Brazil..maybe France..But i like to go away from the flow. :P
