was he the founder of Oldsmobile motors ???
William Olds was co founder of Olds, Wortman & King, a department store established in 1851 in Portland, Oregon, United States. It was one of the oldest companies in the Pacific Northwest. The company built its large store at Morrison, Alder, Tenth and West Park streets in downtown Portland in 1910. It was the first store in the Northwest to occupy an entire block.
Is this the "first" that you are looking for?

Question Author
carpgrass just been on that site, could well be what i am looking for thank you. Pat
One of the only think I am good for is googling! You must never give up, just keep putting in combinations of words and trawling through dead ends until you find what you want. For names alway put it in quotes.
