I've managed 79 without the recommended book and I've just tried to find the 80th in it and it is conspicuous by its absence. Yes I know there are still 6 weeks to go to the closing date but I would appreciate some help and no snide comments.

Shame - Evelyn Champagne King. Only got to no.39 in the charts in 1978. Champagne is in France. Found answer by going through Guinness book of hit singles and albums. Good luck with your quiz.

I apologise Quizmonkey for jumping the gun. I enjoy this site as I am sure you do as well. There are one or two who spoil it ,one in particular but I've learnt to ignore them.
