Could someone please settle a difference of opinion. How many points are there on a compass? The suggestions so far given have been 4, 16 and 32. A definitive answer would be welcome. Many thanks.
There are traditionally 16 cardinal points on old maritime compasses, these days it's more likely to be split into 360 points with each representing 1 degree of a circle but as it's an analogue device there are a infinite amount of potential points on a compass.
