Which washing powder and fabric softener = the best smell?
12 Answers
Ok, very boring question I know but I love the smell of clean washing. However, the smell doesn't seem to last on the clothes and everyone else's washing seems to smell better than mine. In your opinion, which powders/gels etc produce the nicest smells?
I've got some of the Lenor sensations fabric conditioner which is brilliant. My husband has started wearing shirts from a year ago and the smell is still released. However, I find it quite sickly and don't want to use it all the time.
Thanks

Why coat your clothes, which go next to your skin all day, with a layer of petroleum industry waste material ? If it affects clothes that much, what does it do to you ? Besides I've disliked the industry ever since it started to try to make housewives feel guilty about having a normal wash for their sensitive family to tolerate. If your laundry smells of anything other that clothes, it ain't clean. Give it another rinse cycle.

I don't like any smells in my detergent and softener, much as I can't stand those plug in things for the home. I use Morrisons liquid detergent and the softeners for baby clothes which don't have any smells.
However, in the summer when the clothes are hung outside I find softeners are totally unnecessary, except for woolly things!!

Washing powder, I use anything that's on offer or cheap. I'm currently on Persil, but that's only as it was on offer for a giant box, i only use a egg cup full too. I'm fussier about fabric softener though, as like you MissC I like the smell to linger, so I tend to stick to Lenor concentrate- a blue bottle.
